The drop-punt kick is the simplest type of kick to learn, where the ball travels end over end, and should be mastered before learning the torpedo kick; where the ball spins on its long axis through the air.

In this drill, partners stand opposite each other in channels and practice using different types of kicks to each other.

In this game, teams advance up the field kicking and catching the ball to each other in any direction. The oppositon attempt to intercept the ball or force a fumble before the attackers kick the ball into their end-zone.

In this game, two teams of players fill their side of the 'court' and kick to each other over an imaginary 'net'. Following each kick, playes are eliminated if they fail to catch the ball on the full.

This drill focuses on accurately drop-kicking into target zones. The kicker positions on the half-way line and the zones (marked by cones) are positioned at 5m intervals in from the touch line.

This game focuses on teams kicking for territory, to force their opposition back. When the ball is caught from a kick, two steps forward are permitted before kicking. A goal is scored when the ball is kicked over the opposition try-line.

This drill focuses on retrieving kicks and going forward with support against live defence.
